Q: What's your surfing history?
A: I started surfing over ten years ago on the Oregon coast and it completely changed my life. I lived in my van for 3 years surfing the West coast from Baja to Canada and back dozens of times. Since then, I have quit my job as a middle school teacher and opened a surf shop, traveled to mainland Mexico, spent the winter on the north shore of Kauai and became one of the first people on the central Oregon coast to begin tow-in surfing. Currently I teach the only college accredited surfing class in Oregon history at Oregon State University and just pioneered another new big wave tow surfing spot!

Q: What's your favorite board?
A: The appropriate board for the conditions of the day. I'll longboard on the ankle slapper day and tow surf with my 5'6 tow board on a huge day. Fish shapes are my favorite as we often have mushy waves here on the central Oregon Coast and a fish allows performance riding on these waves.

Q: Favorite way to surf?
A: With a positive attitude, I believe the best surfer is the one having the most fun!
